We are super excited to be able to host comics writer/actor David Dastmalchian on the Cryptid Creator Corner podcast. David has been a mainstay in comics movies and tv shows for over a decade. You've seen him in Dune, Ant-Man and the Wasp, The Suicide Squad, The Dark Knight... it's a long list. Recently he has turned his creative energy into a new project with Dark Horse Comics called Count Crowley, an homage to creature features in 80s cinema. Byron got a chance to catch up with David to hear about some of his inspirations behind the project, his own reflections on addiction through the lens of the main character in the book, and even somehow leveraged in an acting related question about Byron’s hometown of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Sneaky that one. David was one of the most enthusiastic and warm guests we’ve ever hosted on the show. Give it a listen and make sure to pick up both collected volumes of Count Crowley in stores now.
A big thank you goes out to Alfred Smith for his excellent yeti voice work in today's episode. Byron is planning on making the yeti visits a regular feature so if you are interested in contributing, let us know in the comments or drop us a line.
